Who is the silliest? The Woofies or the Kitties?

We're 4 days into Garth Riley's FIRST EVER Silly Photo Contest, and I have already received 16 very silly entries!  I had originally intended to wait until the contest deadline had passed before posting entries, and then post all the entries at once.  However I have realized that posting all of the entries at once may result in a silliness overload for my readers.  Therefore I have decided to post the entries in smaller groups.

All of the entries I have received so far are in the Pure Silliness category.  We apparently have some very silly kitties and woofies out there!

Having had little experience with kitties, I always thought kitties were very serious.  When I see kitties while I'm on my walks, they always seem to either look at me with that "Go ahead, make my day" look, hiss at me, or just run away.  But I have recently learned that kitties, too, can be silly -- very silly -- as evidenced by the photos below.

But who is the silliest -- the woofies or kitties?

These are some wonderfully silly photos -- the judges are gonna' have a tough time.

There's still a whole week to get your entries in.  So check out the contest info and rules, find your silliest photo, and email it to me by July 6.  There are no entries yet in the Technologically Enhanced Silliness category or the Local Silliness Category.  Come on my RVA peeps -- I KNOW you have silly photos -- I've seen them on Facebook.  And I KNOW you have done some silly captioned or Photoshopped photos.  Send them in!  You may win something!

  1. BOL I think us woofies are the crazy ones!

  2. Dear Garth,

I think the kitties are much sillier. I live with three kitties and they always think they are so dignified. But they are not. They are silly. They eat grass and play with pretend mice. And sometimes they fall asleep and roll off the couch. This is very silly.

Dogs can be silly too, but only when we want to.

    That is my opinion.

    1. Cobi,

Thank you for sharing your perspective on the feline species. I eat grass too, and I know that's silly. (mom says I'm pretending to be a cow) But I think it's hilarious that they fall asleep and roll off the couch. I'd LOVE to see that!

  3. Hi Garth, I am Sasha, I read about your blog on the community calendar and I am hoping we can be pals now. I sent a silly picture of me to your email and I am gonna do a post about it this weekend. Thanks for having this cool contest. I love all the pictures but the one of Abby is really super silly .

    Loveys Sasha

  4. Oh they are funny mate! Hehehe! Deccy x

  5. Those are some silly pictures for sure! Loved seeing them all!!

  6. We did enjoy that we will try and enter.
    Best wishes Molly

  7. Dude... hands down the dawgs are sillier! Cats are just weird!

    Sam and Pippen

  8. Garth what cat-tastic pictures. Kitties have a very very subtle sense of humor which takes a tad more concentration to figure out. Once I posted a picture of me meowing sweetly to my MOM someone told me I looked vicious. The for a vicious feline is in the ears...when the lay down and you get a stinky eye back away from the cat.
    Hugs Madi your BFFF

  9. We think all the photos are great (and you are wonderful for organising such a contest as it makes us all smile and laugh!) but we think the kitties are the silliest - our favourite was Dirk - what a great photograph!

  10. Harooooo Garth! :)

What great silly willy entries! Fun event you're hosting! I'll ask Mom to get to work on this :) Luv your header photo! What an expression BOL!

    Waggin at ya,

  11. Hey Garth! We saw your Networked Bloggies and we followed you! LOL. HAHA.

I was laughing at some of those photos. They were pretty epic- especially the ones with kitties ( gahhh, this is not how it is supposed to be. Doggies be brave!)

    Huggies and Cheese,

  12. We're big fans of cats who think they are dogs. Our very own late Mr. Bufus was (according to the vet) a Maine Coon cat, but Mom and Dad are certain he was really a man-bear-dog-cat-pig. And while we love (and have the Utmost Respect for) kittehs, we're totally biased toward the doggehs. I mean, one look at Abby, and all the kittehs are WAY serious in comparison! But we love ALL the entries! Pawsome contest, Garth!
