I've been tagged! Does that mean I'm IT?!?!

My new friend Mayzie and her brother Ranger have tagged me! So now I have to answer some questions, and then I get to tag someone else!

This is very cool because it's a great way for my readers to get to know me better, since I'm new at this whole blogging thing and a lot of you don't know me very well yet.

1. Describe yourself in seven words.

Muddy (whenever possible)

Relaxed

Cuddly

Don't I look cuddly?

Silly

Photogenic

Talented

Playing the piano is one of my many talents

Handsome

Aren't I handsome?

2. What keeps you up at night?

Nothing -- not even my mom's snoring, which my dad has described as sounding like one of those big trucks that empties dumpsters, in the process of lifting and emptying a dumpster, over and over and over again.

3. Who would you like to be?

There's not really anyone I would rather be.  As you can probably tell from reading my blog, it's good to be Garth.

4. What are you wearing right now?

My Margaritaville island-print collar and my gorgeous pale yellow fur!

5. What scares you?

Mom trying to cook.  Since I don't have opposable thumbs, I can't use the fire extinguisher, and unlike my friend Honey the Great Dane, I'm unable to produce enough drool to extinguish a fire.

6. The best and worst of blogging?

The best is definitely the friends I've made.  I even got to meet Southernmost Moose of Southernmost Moose Lodge (one of my inspirations for my blog) and his momma in person/dog when we went to the Florida Keys!  It's also been a great way to learn about dog-friendly places and activities for when we travel to different parts of the country.  Local dogs have the best info!  Southernmost Moose gave me all kinds of great info for visiting the Florida Keys, and I learned about wonderful hiking places in the N.C. mountains from reading The Thundering Herd's posts before we spent a week hiking in that area last spring.  And one of our new blog friends turns out to live only about a mile away from us!

The worst of blogging?  So far we've only had one bad experience with a busy-body/crazy person.  This experience annoyed and upset mom and she became disillusioned with blogging for a good four or five hours.  Very little upsets me, so I found the incident rather humorous.

7. What was the last website you visited?

Why, Mango Minster 2012, of course!  The Relentlessly Huge Mango puts on a great show, and Mango Minster has been non-stop excitement since the show began.  Yesterday I tied with Honey the Great Dane for Third Place in the Adventure Animals category!  I'll need to write another post soon just to brag about that.  Third Place in Mango Minster!  Mom says my big block head is getting even bigger!  I'm even wagging my tail in my dreams these days because I'm so happy.

8. What is the one thing you would change about yourself?

Hmmmm.  I wouldn't change a thing.

Now that I think about it, I'd like to improve my skateboarding skills, but mom says that just takes time and practice.

9. Slankets, yes or no?

Because there are multiple definitions of this word, I'm assuming this question applies to the "a blanket with sleeves" definition.  It would be extremely unlikely to find such an item in my house, since my parents are kind of the old-fashioned sweats-and-comforter types.  However if we did own a slanket, it would be covered with yellow lab fur, and I would likely enjoy lying on top of it, and maybe bunch it up with my paws to make a pillow for my head.  (Am I the only one who can't say the word "slanket" without snickering?)

10. Tell us something about the person (people) who tagged you.

Rudder and Mayzie are brother and sister.

I don't know Rudder very well, but he seems very intelligent and thoughtful.  He is a rescue rat terror and he likes hunting rabbits, eating peanut butter, getting belly rubs, and doing tricks.  He doesn't like plates.

Mayzie is a beautiful brindle mixture of boxer, miniature bull terrier, and wire haired dachshund who was rescued by The Best Family There Ever Was. (If I didn't already have a girlfriend, I would totally ask Mayzie to be my girlfriend.) I was very touched by her rescue story and have enjoyed reading her blog. She likes to chase squirrels and she dislikes water.  She lives in Colorado with a mommy who doesn't like to bake but isn't afraid of getting muddy (sounds kind of like my mom) and a daddy who can fly an airplane.  Check out Mayzie's Dog Blog -- I bet you'll enjoy it too!

Tag 8 friends to play along (and if you don't want to play or if you've already been tagged at some point, and don't want to do it again, that's okay too - we understand).

  1. Yay! You did a super great job, Garth! I most especially liked your muddy picture. Mud is good for the furs, you know. Keeps 'em soft and shiny.

We had one kinda kerazy pawson, too, during our time in Blogville. But we just always have to reminds ourselves that there are SO many more super wonderful and kind peoples out there than there are wacky ones.

Oh, and thank you for calling me beautiful. (Blush!)

    Wiggles & Wags,
    Mayzie

PeeS. Congratulations on Mango Minster! I'm so Most Happy for you!
