On July 3, my Grampa Booga turned 80 years old!
His birthday festivities began on July 3 and continued for several weeks
afterwards. The humans and the pups had such great fun celebrating!
On July 3, we went down to Beaufort, North Carolina for the first party, which was a joint party for Booga and David, who share a birthday. It was David's 50th birthday, so the two of them celebrated 130 years!

Everyone
had a wonderful time and no one was ready to go home when the party was over,
so they all (including Booga) went to a nearby bar and continued to celebrate
until the wee hours. (how many 80 year olds follow the "young"
people when they go out carousing?)

I wasn't able to go to the party because it was in a restaurant, but I went along for the trip anyway because we found a dog-friendly hotel, and mom & dad hate to go places without me. I'm a very good traveler and I love to walk and sniff and pee in new & different places. Plus it was 102 degrees F in Richmond when we left but only 85 down in Morehead City where we stayed, so it was a nice break from the heat. And our hotel was a short walk from a beautiful neighborhood for walking, so I got to walk and pee and sniff in a new place.

It was an extra special treat that mom & dad were able to make it to the party in Beaufort. It was such a fun group of family and friends, and they all really enjoyed themselves.

Wow, that sounds really exciting! It's great that you got to go along. Apparently good taste in woofies does run in families! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! Dog friendly hotels are the best! Your Grampa Booga sounds like a great two legged one.
ReplyDeleteWe hope your mom's doing ok.

Best wishes to Grampa Booga and Garth we loved your pic of you with the luggage. Happy Friday to all.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Woo HOOOO...we loves to travel. Our favorite hotels have room service and those boxy things that are made of glass so you can watch when you go up and down. Glad you got to go!

That grandpa is looking good for his 80's!! Our grandpa is 'just' 67, but looks older! (don't let him read this, I would be in a heap of trouble....)
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love peeing in different places?! We do too!! Our mom isn't thrilled when we find a new spot in the garden where having a pee is just delightfull!! Sniffing around underneath the ferns and hostas is Bram's favorite passtime lately, untill mom gets a fit when she doesn't see him and thinks he got out of the garden... When that vain on her forhead starts popping Bram always get out and let mom give him a wack on his butt.... Hahaha.... love it when she does that!! Often ten minutes later she appologize to him for that butt-wack. Silly human.
Our mom was raised with dogs only, never met a cat, but luckely she didn't got the dog-bug but turned out a real cat-woman!! So, I don;t think it's hereditary, just bad luck.... LOL
Paws from Arie, Bram, Cees and Dirk.
It;s so much fun to go somewhere new and sniff it out. How could they forget about you! Looks like a great cake!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
