Contest News: Additional Prizes Announced!!!

I've managed to convince my mom that we need to add some prizes to my contest.  Although the humans may appreciate her hand-crafted frames and ornaments, quite honestly, they aren't worth much to us beasts.  We want TREATS and TOYS.  Also, I've gotten an overwhelming response from my kitty friends, so I've decided we should have separate CAT-egories for Woofies and Kitties.  That will also make it easier on the judges, because kitties have a completely different type of silliness, and comparing kitties to woofies is like comparing apples to oranges.  


In addition to prizes that will be more fun for the kitties and woofies, we'd really like to do something for the creatures in Colorado where there have been some devastating fires, so several lucky winners will receive a donation in their honor to All Breed Rescue & Training, which has been taking in animals to help evacuees, or another organization of your choice which has been assisting animals during the fire relief efforts.  Another way we are helping the Colorado fire relief effort is that mom just bought some of the dog toy prizes from Kyjen, a Colorado company that is donating 100% of their profits between now and July 9 to the Colorado Wildlife Rescue Efforts.  So here is the . . .

In addition to the prizes listed below, all winners will receive a handmade polymer clay trophy ornament, suitable for hanging in your trophy case, from your windshield, on your Christmas tree, or basically anywhere you can hang something.

Pure Silliness
This category is for regular photos -- photos that haven't been photoshopped, no captions have been added, and no cute little things have been added from an app like “IHatMe”.  Cropping and use of Instagram or other filters is allowed, just no added images or captions.  The Pure Silliness CAT-egory has been divided into a CAT-egory for Woofies and a CAT-egory for Kitties:

Pure Silliness - Silliest Woofie

1st place - handmade photo frame + toy from Kyjen + $10 donation to Colorado fire relief organization

2nd place - handmade photo frame ornament + toy from Kyjen + $5 donation

3rd place - handmade ornament + toy from Kyjen

Pure Silliness – Silliest Kittie
1st place - handmade photo frame (frames for kitties will have paw prints instead of bones) + toy or treat + $10 donation to Colorado fire relief organization
2nd place - handmade photo frame ornament + toy or treat + $5 donation
3rd place - handmade ornament + toy or treat

Technologically-Enhanced Silliness
In this category, anything goes!  You can use Photoshop or any app you want to add or distort images.  (My favorite app is called “IArrPirate”.) You can add captions to your heart's content.

1st place - handmade photo frame + toy or treat
2nd place - handmade photo frame ornament + toy or treat
3rd place - handmade ornament + toy or treat
Most creative use of app - handmade photo frame ornament + toy or treat

Local Silliness
This category is for locals only, defined roughly as the metro Richmond, Virginia area (Richmond, Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, Goochland, New Kent).  (I want my local non-blogger friends to have a fighting chance to win something too!)  These may be purely silly photos or technologically enhanced photos.

1st place - handmade photo frame + toy or treat
2nd place - handmade photo frame ornament + toy or treat
3rd place - handmade ornament + toy or treat

Grand Prize - the ABSOLUTE silliest photo in ALL categories
Handmade photo frame + goodie bag (including toy from Kyjen) + $20 donation to Colorado fire relief organization

LOL Award - awarded to photos that make the judges laugh out loud
Handmade dog bone or paw print ornament + toy from Kyjen (if doggie) or treat
